Very fine abstract oil painting by Russian well known artist Anatoly Timofeivich Zverev ( 1931-1986 ). Signed with monogram and dated. Provenance: private collection of Eduard Volodarskiy ( movie director and screen writer ). Eduard Volodarskiy was closed friend to famous Russian singer Vladimir Vysotsky.
Anatoly Zverev, a Nonconformist artist, representative of the second wave of the Russian avant-garde, painter of the Soviet underground. ANATOLY ZVEREV IS AN INGENIOUS RUSSIAN ARTIST. HE WAS AND STILL IS THE LEGEND OF MOSCOW'S ART LIFE OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE XX CENTURY. THE FAMOUS ART COLLECTOR GEORGE COSTAKIS CALLED ZVEREV "THE RUSSIAN VAN GOGH", THE PAINTER ROBERT FALK SAID THAT "EACH TOUCH OF HIS BRUSH IS PRICELESS". TODAY THE ZVEREV'S HERITAGE INCLUDES MORE THAN 30 THOUSAND OF WORKS, THE GENIUS OF ZVEREV IS POLYMORPHIC, COMPREHENSIVE AND INEXHAUSTIBLE.
